I remember coming home after spending five weeks in Greece. The first night was fine because I was exhausted from traveling, and my family got me an ice cream cake to celebrate my homecoming. The second day was exciting because I was showing off my many, many photos and telling everyone about my trip. I caught up with friends, went to Dunkin Donuts, and just enjoyed the comfort of home.
Now, there certainly aren't many places a college student can simply jet off to on a weekend getaway. And it's not always easy to scrounge up the money to travel halfway across the world every year. But that doesn't mean that college students can't get an opportunity to experience other cultures.

During the summer of 2016 I spent over five weeks traveling around the beautiful country, Greece. During my time I went to six islands and five cities on the mainland. I took three classes: Photography, Women in Ancient Greek Literature, & St. Paul's Influence on Early Christianity. But believe me when I say I learned far more than what I read out of my textbooks.
Euripides said this: “Experience, travel – these are as education in themselves.”
